On Friday, March 13 6-9PM,  the Girl Scouts of Cadette Troop 154 hosted an International

Festival for other Girl Scouts in Wake County Area 18.  The mission of Girl Scouts is to

build girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place.

The purpose of the International Festival was to encourage the scouts to learn about

other cultures and their “sisters in Girl Scouts.”

Each Girl Scout Troop picks a country to represent at the Festival.  They research the

country’s geography, climate, currency, family life, cultures and opportunities for girls.

They put together a display about their country and bring a representative dish or snack

 to share.

 "Perian Dreams" by Maryam Tabibzadeh

was selected and 4 girls were selected to do the readings from the book.  The wmv file that

Paul Mahoutchian put together was shown and Maryam was the first speaker to talk, Iran's

history and her book was the subject of her speech.
